The Nest or IITG-TIC — pick the room, not the brand

One is a city incubator with a government doorway. The other is a campus engine for deeptech. Both are useful. They are not interchangeable.

The Nest sits on G.N.B. Road in Ambari, next to the Pragjyotika emporium. It is the state’s marquee incubator: six months, mentorship, a pitch night at the end of the cohort. The application is a portal, then screening, then a panel. It is built for Assam-based teams with at least a proof of concept.

IIT Guwahati’s Technology Incubation Centre is a different animal. It has been running since 2009 inside the Technology Complex. The gravity is research, hardware, and founders who can live on the north bank. BioNEST next door is the wet-lab version of the same idea.

If your wedge is tea D2C, logistics, or a consumer app, start with The Nest and the city network on G.S. Road. If your wedge is a robot, a diagnostic, or a new material, start with TIC. Applying to both is fine. Pretending they are the same programme is how you write a bad application twice.
