The grants and incubators map Assam founders actually use

Nest, IITG-TIC, NEVF, MASI — what they are, who they are for, and how not to apply to all of them at once.

Assam does not have a shortage of schemes. It has a shortage of a single map. Founders bounce between The Nest’s portal, IIT Guwahati’s TIC, NEDFi’s venture vehicles, and a rotating set of central programmes with NE quotas. The weekly digest exists so you do not have to keep that spreadsheet yourself.

Start with the stage, not the logo. Idea-to-MVP with a local team usually means The Nest at Ambari. Hardware, biotech, or anything that needs a lab means the north bank — TIC and BioNEST. If you already have revenue and want a cheque, NEVF and the Assam Start-up VCF are the regional paths; Bengaluru funds still show up late.

MASI and state recognition sit on a different track from incubation. You can be incubated and still miss the ID, or hold the ID and still need a desk. Read the eligibility twice. Alcohol, tobacco, and “family business expansion” get screened out for a reason.

We cover these programmes, introduce founders when the fit is real, and put the deadlines in the digest so they are not tribal knowledge.
